Great lantern, bright output

After getting frustrated with weak battery powered lanterns I went for this gas lantern and was pleased I did. It's easy to set up and use with just a push and click onto the self-sealing cartidges. When packing away at the end of a trip, just remove it from the cartridge and pop it back in its own plastic container - no risk of the glass globe getting damaged.Just make sure you carry spare mantles, I forgot and had to go back to torches when I didn't have a spare mantle - doh!

Could not be happier

I am well happy with this item. It's so easy to use, connecting the gas cartridge is just a push and twist, the best part being that it takes cv plus cartridges which means during the day i can pug the same cartridge into my campingaz party stove. And with the piezo it does light with just one click (as long as you remember to turn the gas on, silly me). Also comes with a nice well fitting bag which has a solid plastic guard.I know there's a very similar camping gas lamp, all i could see that was different was the plate on the top over the globe is bigger and in this country with the wether i thought it would be better to keep the rain out and the bag i talked about.But i really think this lamp is awesome and pleased i brought it. So, go on, buy this one, it's great

In the wind with a Trangia..

After years of using the meths burner ,I traded up to the gas burner, I have not been disappointed.Whilst still using the meths burner on the "hill", at base camp the gas burner comes into its own..baring in mind weight considerations, whilst treking.Even in extremely windy conditions, notably betwix sand dunes on the beach in OUISTREHAM, in Normandy, waiting for the ferry, at the end of a cycling trip, it still surpassed expectations as I whipped up tea and tiffin, in a gale, much to the amusement of the locals..The Trangia has never disappointed me, so a definate, worth while purchase, for the ardent outdoor enthusiast !

LIKE ALL THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ~ IT'S SIMPLE

Although not strictly the set I have ~ mine has been cobbled together over the years ~ it is basically what I have used for many, many years.The design is simple, but incredibly effective. With the addition of non-stick pans it is becomes even better. You can still cook your corn beef hash, and you can still burn it to get those oh, so tasty bits, but it doesn't stick!! I'm sure there is some sort of witch craft going on, but it really does work!A non-stick frying pan is a 'must' for any outdoors person who like fried eggs. If you have ever tried, a) carrying oil for frying; b) tried disposing of it afterwards, and, c) found that they still weld themselves to the pan you will have now found outdoor nirvana with a non-stick frying pan.I have used many other cooking sets and stoves from Camping Gas to MSRs over the years, but I have never, never found anything better than the Trangia for my/our general use.NOTE: My son has now started using it for his use, even though he has his own MSR.

Lifesaver!

I love this one! Although it's my first (and last?) liquid fuel stove, I've tried several others, and this one beats them all in performance. No hassle with gas canisters in summer, and when the temperature drops below freezing I just change the nozzle and i'm all ready for petrol. Perfect for melting snow and heating tents in extreme temperatures.

Primus omnifuel.

Easy to use and very versatile stove. Works surprisingly well on ordinary car diesel and petrol, though you have to put up with smoke and clean it regularly. As well as working well with all the usual camping stove fuels.

Primus Omnifuel

I purchased this for a trip to Australia where I will need to use petrol whilst in the outback. I have tested the unit with Petrol and Gas and it works perfectly. It has a decent sized base which will help keep it upright, many other stoves are prone to falling over. It sounds a bit like Concorde taking off but this may be a benefit as you cant forget to shut it off. I will know more in about 9 months after my trip.

quirky but excellent

this windshield comes in storage pouch which makes storage easy it fits great around small camping stove high enough to keep wind off but low enough to access pans etc. Setting it is easy and the design is sound two inbuilt wire pegs hold it secure great product lightweight and very useful - the only warning is check the size of your stove and get the correct size small single burner small pan set get the 8 panel otherwise go for the bigger one you'll not be disappointed. service for me was easy and delivery was prompt.

Great value portable loo. Just buy some normal pine fresh disinfectant and put in a few cap fulls after every sitting. If you are camping 2 sittings is the max you want to do before emptying. If you use a nice pine scented disinfectant and 2-3 litres of water it gives off no smell and is surprisingly comfortable when seated, great product!

A camping must have!!

I bought this for our camping trip this year as we have 4 small children, and night time treks to the toilet block can be a pain with 4 little ones! I am so pleased we bought this, it was easy to use, no spillage when transporting to waste disposal as it comes with a handy lid for the internal bucket, easy to clean. And you can even buy a little cover to go over it when it is not being used. Very handy, very practical and suitable for both children and adults. A must have for all camping trips!!

When my family decided on going camping,I insisted on having a portable loo, the thought of trailing to the facilities in the middle of the night - no way! Best £18 spent, since it rained frequently at night, to get up and get soaked would have been an extremely unpleasant experience. We used it all the time and found it to be a versatile asset, even when my daughter had car sickness on the way home. It has already been borrowed by friends for childrens' camping party in the garden. Well worth it.

Meths burner

I bought this burner to use with a small fish smoker. It works well, and burns slowly. Half full, it burns for 1/2 hour and produces enough heat to work well with my small smoker, fit for two small trout.Starting is easy as long as a little meths is run around the lip.The burner needs no wick or additional parts.

It`s ok but not as good as the old meths type stove.

Over the years I have worn out several of the old type meths stove that you occasionally still see for sale on Ebay. But, for the price I thought I would give this little burner a try. My favourite use for this type of stove is on a day out hillwalking, or when I am on holiday and dig a hole in the sand on the beach and balance a kettle above with the intent of having endless cups of tea. Well ok, it works, but not as good as the old type meths stove with the can type surround.

Excellent product, very impressed. I used 2 tabs to heat up water for instant noodles and it did so within about 90 seconds. Good value for money, compact and works effectively. Perfect cooker for a festival.

A very nice, small cook set for 1 or 2 people when you need to save on space and weight. The cook set runs on Esbit fuel tablets (Hexie), alcohol or small wood shavings if you run out of the others! I have not tried it yet but it does look like you can also use Bio fuel?A boil-in-the-bag (you can just fit 2 bags in there) takes around 10 - 12 minutes with alcohol, as long as you can shield it from the wind!Tip:If you use a heat mat, (I stole mine from the wife) to cook on, in your tent(alcohol/spirit ONLY - NO HEXIE INSIDE YOUR TENT), you can stay warm and dry in your tent with this cooker.I would have been happier if:1. The pots where made from Stainless Steel2. It also had another small bag for the cooker, as its fits inside the pots (to keep the pots clean)These are very small points, as I am never happy!
